Hello, we are the good ones, nice to meet you. Our style is sincere and solid—we are not a glossy agency. Hence the uninteresting name
Working with Cowain means working with partners. We have a common scope: the successful project implementation. Sometimes this even means questioning feature requests. But it can also mean that we contribute something on our own account if we consider an idea to be socially meaningful. "Client is king" is not our attitude. We prefer to see you as companions.
Community-driven business is what inspires us. In our company structure that means: employees are co-owners and have a saying in our strategies. In client consulting that means: Whenever applicable, we advise companies to build synergies within their sector and promote the idea of Drupal distributions. Or take the idea of a meta community: We have been a driving force in founding the CMS Garden Association, a cooperation of the most relevant open source content management systems for common public relations acitivities.
We have orchestrated OpenCulturas
The team of Landschaftsverband Südniedersachsen and the project have fascinated us right from the start, everything was just right: A cultural platform for rural areas to make all the facets and networks of culture visible. And to develop this platform as generic, reusable open source software - exactly our thing!
It quickly became not just a customer order, but a joint project that we want to continue to support and develop. We are co-maintainers of OpenCulturas, we provide security updates. And we do public relations work for the association on a voluntary basis. Of course, we are also interested in contracts to further develop the software—after all, we also have to make a living. But we prefer to earn our living with projects that we are passionate about.
Company for the Development of Things
You are right: we like funny names. CoWAIN is a division of GzEvD - Gesellschaft zur Entwicklung von Dingen mbH. Safeserver is another division. We just wanted to mention this for the sake of transparency so that you don't wonder how it all fits together when you get in touch with us.
