Digital projects, planned to succeed
hexabinær guides cultural institutions, associations and networks through the phases that decide whether a CMS project succeeds: from the call for tenders through concept development to a clean move into the new system.
Good cultural platforms start long before the first line of code
- Tender consulting: specifications that produce comparable bids, plus support in choosing the procurement procedure and drafting evaluation criteria
- Requirements engineering: turning ideas into prioritized, actionable requirements, whether as a guided contribution to OpenCulturas or as a custom extension
- Concept development: information architecture, content models, editorial workflows
- Migration planning: reviewing, cleaning up and transferring existing data without loss
- Usability: interfaces that visitors and editorial teams understand equally well
- Accessibility: built in from the start instead of patched on later
With hands-on Drupal and OpenCulturas experience, hexabinær translates between cultural practice and technology, so both sides mean the same thing when they say “done.”
A passion for open source
hexabinær learned its craft in the global FOSS community: in issue queues, code reviews and open decision-making processes shaped by many contributors. That experience led to a firm conviction: good software only stays good if the way it is governed is also open, transparent and independent of any single company.
This is why hexabinær advised founding the OpenCulturas e. V. association. As a result, the platform is held in shared responsibility and follows proven governance principles from the open-source world.
